Watch Virtual Team Challenge solutions from Global Finals 2020
Global Finals is the world’s largest celebration of creativity. In any normal year, more than 8,000 of the world’s most innovative minds compete in teams to showcase their Challenge solutions in our international competition, celebrate their creativity, and have fun.
Of course, 2020 was not a normal year. Many in-person tournaments were canceled because of the pandemic, and this included Destination Imagination’s international tournament in Kansas City, Missouri in May. But during these days of social distancing and stay-at-home guidance, it was more important than ever for our participants to connect with friends and family members, and to continue expressing their creativity, so Destination Imagination developed a completely online version of Global Finals.
Destination Imagination Global Finals 2020 Virtual Tournament was a one-of-a-kind collaborative problem-solving experience that took place 100% online, and was open to all students and families who enjoy being creative, collaborative, and solving fun challenges that require out-of-the-box thinking. Teams were NOT required or encouraged to meet in person. All components of GF20 could be completed virtually with the use of video conferencing platforms and other means of digital communication.
For Destination Imagination’s first-ever Virtual Team Challenge, teams had to create and perform an original story about characters who work together to reach a goal. They had to incorporate a work of art into their performance and use at least one video conferencing platform to perform their solution.
