It’s one of the most visible and fun parts of our program: Being amazed at Regional and State Destination Imagination competition. Saturday, 200 volunteers were trained to appraise arts and STEM-based solutions using creativity, collaboration, communication skills at Pennichuck Middle School in Nashua. They will be Appraisers at the New Hampshire Destination Imagination academic tournaments that will be held around the state, starting in March.
They will appraiser the points of teams of up to seven team members as they in two types of challenges: The Team Challenge is based in in Technical, Scientific, Structural, Fine Arts, Improvisational, and Service Learning. There is also a “think on your feet” portion where teams use similar skills, taking fewer than eight minutes to solve a complex “Instant Challenge”.
Reminder: The final Appraiser Training is Saturday, February 13th at Pennacook’s Merrimack Valley Middle School, 14 Allen St, Pennacook, NH.
The Appraisers are among the annual New Hampshire 1,000 volunteers – and the 38,000 volunteers in 48 states and 30 countries around the world where the Destination Imagination program is active.
