NH-DI Events
NH-DI schedules an annual series of events that align with the school year. It starts in the early fall with information sessions for families and educators who want to learn more about our programs. This is followed by training for the adult Team Managers who work with each team of students, an optional skills workshop in January for team members, and training for the Appraisers who score the teams at our local tournaments in March.
Local Destination Imagination Tournaments
Most teams spend several months working on a solution to their Team Challenge. At our tournaments, each team has the opportunity to present their Challenge solution before an audience of tournament officials, families, friends, and spectators.
The Early Leaning Rising Stars Challenge is non-competitive and is not scored. For the rest of the Challenges, the highest scoring teams at each age-based competition level will qualify for the New Hampshire DI affiliate tournament.
The highest scoring teams at the Affiliate Tournament are invited to compete with hundreds of other teams from around the world at Destination Imagination Global Finals.
Information Sessions for Parents and Educators
We love to talk to parents and educators about Destination Imagination! Many of have seen how much our own children have learned through participation in this program, and we would like every student to have the same opportunity.

We are often asked to give presentations to families, educators, and kids who are interested in learning more about Destination Imagination. We have a team of volunteers who can visit your school to do this. Families would be welcome to bring their kids, because we also bring fun activities for them to try during our presentation to the adults.
Online and In-Person Training Events
NH-DI offers many different training and support sessions:
- New Team Manager Workshop:. We strongly recommend that all new Team Managers attend this workshop, which is also open to experienced Team Managers who wish to brush up on their skills. We’ve found this to be the most effective way to ensure that Team Managers (and their teams) have a successful and rewarding DI experience. We’ll walk Team Managers through everything they need to know in order to have a successful season! (In-person autumn event.)
- DIve In: This is a fun and lively skills training session for team members. This workshop features Instant Challenge practice, a choice of workshops, and more! (In person event in January.)
- Appraiser Training:Â This fun training session for our tournament officials will teach how to appraise the Team Challenge solutions created by our teams. (In person and online.)
- Team Manager Support: We schedule online support meetings for Team Managers on a regular basis. (Online via Zoom.)
