If your team has advanced to the New Hampshire Affiliate Tournament, congratulations! We’re looking forward to seeing them there!
The tournament will be held at Bedford High School on Saturday, April 11, 2026. Please check the 2026 Affiliate Tournament home page on a regular basis, because this is where we’ll post the tournament schedule, along with other important announcements about the tournament.
Nearly all of the information in the NH-DI Tournament Survival Guide also applies to our Affiliate Tournament. So we’ll try to keep this short…
Registration
We already know which teams advanced, so unless your team has a special scheduling request, there is no need for Team Managers to do anything to register for the State Tournament. Teams are no longer required to recruit an Appraiser for the State Tournament, because NH-DI now takes care of this.
Special Scheduling Requests
Special scheduling requests (if truly compelling) must be submitted by Sunday, March 29, 2026. You can enter these directly into the Resource Area, or email Craig Richardson (craig.richardson@nh-di.org).
If your team has a potential schedule conflict with another event, please don’t just ask us to schedule your team as early (or late) as possible. We may receive similar requests from other teams in your Challenge, and if that happens, we’ll need more information to find times that will work for everyone. If someone must leave before the end of the tournament, we’d like to know how late they could stay if it became necessary, and if someone will be arriving late, we’d like to know how early they could get to the tournament.
If you send us an email, please don’t forget to identify your team (yes, we sometimes receive messages that omit that crucial piece of information). The best way to do this is to include your team number in the message.
Volunteers
We need your help to run the tournament! Just as you did for your regional, each team must provide a two-hour volunteer to assist us on the day of the tournament.
We have the name of the volunteer who was included in your team’s regional tournament registration. If they are unable to volunteer again at the affiliate tournament, you won’t need to notify us. You can just substitute someone else. Please make sure they know who they’re replacing, though. They’ll need to look for that name on the volunteer schedule to find out when they’ll need to arrive.
Please note that we need one person for two hours, not four people for 30 minutes each. This is because some assignments require a bit of on-the-job training, and that becomes a problem when several different people try to share the job.
Your volunteer won’t be required to work during your team’s performance. However, you should notify the tournament director ahead of time if your volunteer has a child on another team. We’ll want to schedule them at a time that won’t conflict with either performance. If we make a mistake and they’re scheduled to work during their child’s performance, contact the tournament director right away so we can change their assignment.
Team Membership
If a member of your team wasn’t able to attend the regional tournament, they are still eligible to rejoin the rest of the team at the affiliate tournament.
Your team is not allowed to add new members after their regional tournament. According to Rules of the Road, teams may not add team members between tournaments for any reason, even if the team does not yet have seven team members. Adding team members between tournaments will result in their disqualification as a competitive team. The team may still present but will not be scored.
Improvements in Team Challenge Solutions
Teams may continue to refine, or even totally replace, their Challenge solution at each level of competition. However, any changes must be completely original, and may not be an adaptation of something that was presented at an earlier tournament by another team.
Team Paperwork
You’ll want to visit the Resource Area to submit new versions of your team’s Tournament Data Form and Expense Report. Any changes in their Team Challenge solution are likely to affect their TDF and Expense Report, and the Appraisers will need to have the latest versions.
