Getting a team to create a solution in Destination Imagination and bring their solution to one of several STEAM based challenges is a win for the team. Advancing to Destination Imagination Global Finals is a huge win, where they meet and compete with teams from around the globe. Congratulations to Mascoma High School and Oyster River High School as their teams placed third and tenth in the world, respectively.
The Mascoma High School “This Might Work” team placed third in the world in the improvisation challenge, blending detailed research, problem-solving, collaboration, presentation and performance amidst unknown elements given to the team during competition.
The Oyster River High School’s “Kandylicious Kids” team placed tenth in the world in their service learning challenge, which is designed to engage students in public service that addresses real-life community issues. Their solution also must leverage creativity, problem-solving, collaboration and performance elements.
