Teams competed in open-ended challenges that require student teams to apply science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM), in addition to improvisation, theater arts and presentation skills. These challenges must be solved strictly by the team of up to seven students. Teams competed within the chosen Challenge and age level.
Teams now shift gears to fund raising, to help pay for the trip to the largest competition and celebration of creative problem solving in the World, Destination Imagination Global Finals.
The educational week is sponsored in part by 3M, IBM, Pearson, PCG Education, Oracle Academy and the Motorola Foundation. Students will have the opportunity to meet with teams from around the world as well as hands-on learning from NASA Marshall Space Center, Scholastic, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, the Project Management Institute, PCG Education and the National School Board Association.
