This award is given for having a unique approach to a solution, for risk taking, and/or for outstanding creativity (not skill or talent).

This elementary team wowed us with their elegant simplicity. With a performance filled with baseball puns, they delivered their project pitch at a level beyond what we would expect from an elementary team. It included a homemade live action camera.
Hampstead Academy, Middle level, Pandemonium!, 130-42120
Who is this character? The two sides of the solution were highly memorable and spilled over onto the appraisal table. A monstrous performance by a tiny team “wowed” the audience with their portrayal of multiple characters; fast-moving, risk-taking and humorous scenes created a unique performance.

This team memorexed us. “is it real or is it memorex?” They brought us to a place where we could not distinguish their creations from reality, especially on their budget.
Spirit of Discovery and Imagination Award
This award is given in recognition of those who act as superior role models in the areas of spirit, sportsmanship and volunteerism.
Southern NH Montessori Academy, Elementary level, Pitch & Play, 130-02223
The tremendous leadership and diplomatic skills demonstrated by the young lady on this team impressed the IC appraisal team beyond belief.
TorchBearer Award
This award honors teams and/or individuals whose solutions have had extraordinary impact in and beyond their local communities
Lebanon High School, Secondary Level, Pitch & Play, 130-62407
This team chose to tackle the difficult topic of mental health first aid for adolescents by creating and piloting a training program in youth mental health for high school juniors and seniors. This project was so remarkable that not only did they screen and then train peers, but they also created a model for the process that could be used in the future.
