STEAM-powered, in this case, stands for Science, Tech, Engineering, the Arts, and Math – the core of the new fun and hands-on skills being taught this Saturday, that will help these teams form unique solutions to Destination Imagination Challenges. Teams compete in Challenges that are based in key areas: Technical, Scientific, Structural, Fine Arts, Improvisational, and Service Learning. There is also training for our non-competitive Early Learning Challenge that allows participants to develop social and problem-solving skills.
Nearly 1,800 students on 300 student teams will compete in Destination Imagination tournaments around the state in March and April, with the top teams advancing to compete with teams from 48 states and 30 countries at Destination Imagination Global Finals in May.
