600+ of NH Next Innovators Showcase Creativity in 21st Century Challenge Based Skills in Kingston and Swazney
Final Week of NH Destination Imagination Regional Tournaments this Saturday in Kingston and Swanzey.
Creative problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking will be tested this weekend in the final round of Regional Tournaments for New Hampshire Destination Imagination. Over 1,500 Granite State students will showcase their solutions to open-ended challenges during two weeks of Regional Tournaments ending Saturday. The student teams will deliver these solutions to trained appraisers in a chance to advance to the State Finals, and ultimately, Global Finals in May.
Team members from kindergarten to high school will compete in these complex challenges that incorporate science, technology, engineering, math, the arts, or service-learning with the team’s ability to deliver creative solutions in front of an audience and appraisers. What makes DI unique is that all solutions, including all ideas and construction must be done SOLELY by the team members, and not adults or friends. The teams have been working since the fall to craft their solutions.
This Saturday, over 800 students will participate in the regional competitions at Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston and Monadnock Regional Middle and High School in East Swanzey. Teams that advance in their Challenge and grade level will compete at Destination Imagination State Finals in Nashua on March 29. The top-scoring teams will then represent New Hampshire against teams from around the world at Global Finals.
This year, over 150,000 students from 48 states and 32 countries will participate in the non-profit Destination Imagination educational programs.
The non-profit New Hampshire Destination Imagination this year marks their 33rd of bringing creativity programs to Granite State schools and community organizations.
