Over 150 student teams will have their problem-solving, collaboration and creativity skills tested at Destination Imagination Regional Tournaments in Berlin on Saturday and Goffstown on Sunday. Student teams will be leveraging these skills in solving open-ended challenges based in science, technology, the arts, engineering, math and service learning.
Top scoring teams in their selected challenge and age group from each tournament will advance to the Destination Imagination State Finals on April 1 in Bedford. The top scoring teams will qualify to advance to compete with teams from virtually every state and teams from 20 countries at Destination Imagination Global Finals.
“Technology is evolving quickly and will continue to do so,” according to Wayne Kurtzman, an NH-DI board member. “Regardless of what our team members want to do for their careers, collaboration, communication, creativity, and problem solving skills are recognized by colleges, sought after by business and vital for entrepreneurs.”
“The students lean these skills by doing the challenge themselves without interference from adults or friends,” according to NH-DI Executive Director Anna Maenhout. “The create the ideas, time schedule and budget for the project and build not just creativity skills, but responsibility and self-confidence.”
