31 NH Teams Advance to Global Academic Tournament

66 New Hampshire student teams have competed in an STEAM showdown at the NH Destination Imagination State Affiliate Finals on Saturday, April 6th at Bedford High School. These teams excelled in Challenges based in science, technology, engineering, the arts, math or social learning. Over 100 teams statewide tackled these challenges. Only two student teams in each Challenge and age group qualified to compete with teams from around the world and most every state at Destination Imagination Global Finals .
Each year, over 150,000 students participate globally in the Destination Imagination program, which is offered in over 30 countries and has 1.6 million alumni who were on teams in the past. Many alumni have returned to give back to the program. New Hampshire boasts over 120,000 of the 1.5 million alumni worldwide.

This team’s excellent integration of their project was enhanced by their ability to employ an amazingly detailed, yet effectively simple set piece to expertly portray their fully developed characters and impressive fantasy map. The appraisers felt immersed in the story with the characters as we traveled along the lighted path through town!

This team wowed us with their skilled craftmanship, and refined, energetic storytelling. We were particularly impressed by the intricate, thoughtful design of the crocheted puppet characters. Finally, this team excelled in the tenets of teamwork, amplifying and supporting the members’ diverse skills and talents.
About NH-DI and NHICC
The New Hampshire Innovation and Creativity Connection (NHICC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that promotes teamwork, creative problem solving, and innovation in New Hampshire. NHICC works with students ranging from preschool to college and sponsors programs such as New Hampshire Destination Imagination® (NH-DI) to help young people in New Hampshire become future leaders and innovators.
