Student Creativity, Problem-Solving Skills To Be Competition-Tested

The first of nearly 270 teams compete in Nashua; Kingston This Saturday

When the need for creativity and innovation seem to be increasing, some 2,000 New Hampshire students are ready to have their creative problem-solving skills put to the test. The first week of New Hampshire Destination ImagiNation (NH-DI) competitions will be held this Saturday at Nashua High School and Sanborn Regional High School in Kingston. Next week, regional creativity competitions will be held at Plymouth State University and in Swanzey.

Destination ImagiNation® is a leading-edge non-profit organization dedicated to teaching participants the essential skills of creativity, teamwork, and problem solving. Teams of up to seven students solve Team Challenges that incorporate core school subjects with a focus in Technical Design, Structural Design, Science, Literature and the Arts, Community Service or Improvisational Techniques.

Teams from area schools compete within the Challenge and grade level in hopes of advancing to the State Finals next month, and ultimately to Global Finals to compete with problem-solving teams from around the world.

New Hampshire Destination ImagiNation this year will mark 30 years of bringing creativity programs to Granite State schools and community organizations. Every year, New Hampshire students join over 100,000 students from pre-K through college that take part in the program across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries.
