Creativity, critical-thinking and collaboration are all core needs to succeed in today’s world – and it looks like New Hampshire will be just fine. Six of New Hampshire’s 41 teams at Destination Imagination Global Finals finished in the top 10 in their division, including a first place finish from Hollis Brookline DI in the scientific challenge. Teams spent most of the school year solving the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) based challenge and competing within state to qualify for Global Finals and compete with teams from 47 states and 17 countries. The contest was held at the University of Tennessee and drew such celebrities as Buzz Aldrin, Paula Abdul, Disney illustrators and imagineers.

 

Mascoma Valley HS finished fifth in the world in the scientific challenge;[Media Photo]

Pinkerton Academy Alumni Team (University Level) finished 6th in the improvisation challenge;[Media Photo]

Sunapee Central Elementary School finished 7th in the service learning challenge;[Media Photo]

Southern New Hampshire University, SNHU, finished 7th in the improvisation challenge;[Media Photo]

Londonderry Middle School finished 9th in the scientific challenge.[Media Photo]
