103 Student Teams Try to Advance to Global Creativity Competition in Nashua Saturday

Over 3,000 New Hampshire students on over 300 teams have competed over the past two weeks showing their creativity, collaboration and communication skills in solving this wildly imaginative open-ended Challenges. Saturday, the top 103 teams will compete at Nashua High School South in hopes of advancing to compete with teams from nearly every state and from around the world at Destination Imagination Global Finals.

New Hampshire State Finals this year will host the CEO of the international non-profit education organization, author and 21st Century skills education leader, Dr. Chuck Cadle. [link to bio].

Affiliate Director Jill Schoonmaker points out that “This spring there will be over 600 Destination Imagination, or “D.I.” competitions around the world … so to we are very honored to Dr. Cadle visit New Hampshire” New Hampshire Destination Imagination has one of the highest ratio of students to participants in the United States.

Teams will compete within their grade level and their chosen Challenge, based in based the arts, science, technology, engineering, math and service learning. Top-scoring teams will represent New Hampshire at Destination Imagination Global Finals in May at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

WHO:  103 student teams (over 700 students) in grades 3-12 from all parts of New Hampshire who have advanced from NH Destination Imagination regional tournaments will compete to advance to Global Finals.

WHAT  Competition of complex Challenge solutions that focus on 21st Century skills including in the following focus areas: Technical, Scientific, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Structural and Service Learning.

WHY    Top scoring teams will represent the state and compete with teams from 48 states and 15 countries at Destination Imagination Global Finals.
