Held at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, teams from Kindergarten through 12th grade strengthened their collaboration, teamwork and problem-solving skills during the half-day, fast-moving workshop.

Workshops ranged from the different properties of Plarn (plastic yarn that can be recycled into almost limitless, low-cost props), improv and performance, and Instant Challenge strategy and training. Instant Challenges, or “ICs” are the part of the competition that tests the “think on their feet skills” for a team.

These team members are among the over 2,000 New Hampshire students – and over 150,000 students worldwide who take part in Destination Imagination each year. Competitions for these teams begin in March, with State Finals in early April, and Destination Imagination Global Finals featuring the world’s top teams in May.

The Destination Imagination (DI) program encourages teams of learners to have fun, take risks, focus, and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts, and service learning.

Our participants learn patience, flexibility, confidence, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem solving process.
