NH-DI Creative Problem Solving Tournaments Start Saturday in Hudson; N. Sutton
Over 2,300 NH Students to Compete with Hopes of Advancing to State Meet Later This Month
Creative problem solving, collaboration and communication skills of over 2,300 New Hampshire students will be put to the test starting Saturday as New Hampshire Destination ImagiNation teams start their Regional competitions. “DI” is the world’s largest creative problem solving organization for student teams from kindergarten through college. The New Hampshire teams will join over 100,000 students in over 30 countries competing in judged challenges that incorporate core school subjects with a focus that is technical, scientific, arts-based, improvisational, structural or social-learning. What makes DI unique is that all solutions, including all ideas and construction must be done SOLEY by the team members, and not adults or friends.
Teams of up to seven students in over 100 schools and home school groups have been working since the fall to create a solution to showcase the team’s creativity, teamwork and innovation.
This Saturday, the first 1,200 students will participate in the regional competitions at Alvirne High School in Hudson and Kearsarge Regional High School in North Sutton, NH. Teams that advance in their Challenge and grade level will compete at Destination ImagiNation State Finals in Hampton at the end of the month. The top-scoring teams will then represent New Hampshire against teams from around the world at Global Finals.
New Hampshire Destination ImagiNation marks their 31st of bringing creativity programs to Granite State schools and community organizations.

WHEN: Parade of Teams at 8AM; Competition starts at 9 AM. Best photo op time 9AM – 11:30; 1 – 3 PM.
