Cake Walk Team

It’s not every day you see an elementary school principal getting down and boogying with the kids, nor a long line of patient and smiling kids & parents waiting to get into an event. But it happened right here in Swanzey as our Cake Walk team pulled off the cakewalk of the year. This Spirit of DI award goes to a team of adults who made winning a cake a special event.

Monadnock Regional High School
Team: 130-46527

Can anyone spare some wood? When a competing team realized that they didn’t have all of the supplies needed to rebuild their structure, this team generously shared their own emergency tools and supplies. This award goes to a team that truly exhibited the true Spirit of DI.

Grantham Village School
Team: 130-77376
Challenge: Verses! Foiled Again!

Grace under pressure! First thing this morning, a team member turned around and went home sick. Then the team discovered that they had to make significant adjustments to their structure, at the same time that they were busy devising creative ways to compensate for the missing team member. They remained upbeat, confident, and enthusiastic throughout, exhibiting preparation and dedication that was unusual for a first year DI team.
