Team Challenge Appraisers need to have great ears and eyes. They watch each team's presentation paying close attention to creativity, risk-taking, humor, and whether tasks are completed.  Having a sense of humor and being interested, friendly, and able to appreciate technical as well as artistic creativity are also the hallmark of a good Team Challenge Appraiser.

Team Challenge Appraisers have the following responsibilities:

  • study their Team Challenge thoroughly to understand what they will see and need to score
  • are assigned a subset of the scored items in the team challenge to score
  • review Tournament Data Forms provided by each team to gain a better understanding of the team's presentation
  • watch each team's presentation closely paying attention to their assigned items to score
  • interview team members after the presentation to allow the team to share what they have accomplished that might not have been in the presentation so they better understand the items they need to score
  • score their assigned score items
  • write the team positive feedback on "sticky notes"
  • work with other appraisers on their team to make decisions on Special Awards

There are 2 ways that scores can be recorded;

  1. using score sheets (here is an example)
  2. using our Mobile Client running on your smart device (more here)

Mobile Scoring is the standard at NH-DI tournaments but can vary from tournament to tournament.
