These kids produce creative, complex solutions to challenges that are technical, scientific, structural, arts-based, improvisational or service entrepreneurship. They develop big ideas, create amazing props, manage the project and expenditures and do it all themselves. After several weeks of the competition, over 300 statewide student teams are now the 41 teams that will represent New Hampshire at Destination Imagination Global Finals in May.

“We have had over 3,000 amazing students from K-through-college in our New Hampshire ‘D.I.’ program this year”, according to New Hampshire Destination Imagination (NH-DI) Affiliate Director Anna Maenhout. “And we are very thankful for our more than 1,000 volunteers who have helped make our program possible.”
Destination Imagination Global Finals is the world’s largest celebration of student creativity, with more than 1,400 of the top-tiered Destination Imagination teams showcasing their innovative solutions over the four-day event.
“These teams are now in fundraising mode”, according to Wayne Kurtzman, NH-DI’s volunteer media relations director. “It’s worth it when you get to meet teams from all over the world who just went through the creative process you did.” Kurtzman also spotlights the numerous education opportunities at Global Finals.
“Our Innovation Expo is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for companies to engage with students around the globe who are excited for the world of engineering, arts, technology, renewable energy and astronomical research,” said Dr. Chuck Cadle, CEO of Destination Imagination. “We encourage businesses and organizations to develop an exhibit space with interactive elements, such as featuring a spokesperson or providing hands-on experiences, to further inspire the imaginations of our students.”
At the Global Finals Innovation Expo, businesses and organizations are granted a space to display their latest products, services and interactive technology. From space exploration simulators to 3-D printing to educational toys and games, a whole gamut of industries will be represented at the Expo throughout the event. The 2015 Innovation Expo exhibitors included NASA, Microsoft, National Geographic, Scholastic and 3M.
