Tournament Survival Guide

Students around the state are getting ready to demonstrate six months work in creative problem solving at regional competitions starting this weekend in Nashua and Swanzey. Destination Imagination, or “D.I.” participants will compete in challenges that blend the arts, technology, science, improvisational skills, structure, service learning and “think on their feet” skills. Scoring is complex, but based on creativity, collaboration and effectiveness. The tough part: Each solution is managed and created solely by team members. There is a non-competitive challenge for those younger than grade 3.

Teams finishing in the top tier of their challenge and age group will advance to NH Destination Imagination State Finals on March 28th in Hampton, NH. Top finishing teams will advance to compete with teams from virtually every state and 15 nations at Destination Imagination Global Finals in May.

NH-DI participants are among over 200,000 students in 30 countries participating in the program.
