Saturday at UNH: Hundreds of Kids Learn Creative Problem Solving Skills (PHOTO OP!)
Team Members to be Trained in Creative Problem Solving; Teamwork Skills by NH-DI Alumni
Over the past 31 years, New Hampshire Destination ImagiNation has generated over 100,000 alumni trained in the building blocks of innovation: creativity, problem solving and teamwork. On Saturday at the University of New Hampshire, they will be joined by several hundred students from around the state to learn a variety of skills to help them compete at Destination ImagiNation Creativity Tournaments in March.
WHO: Students Grades 1- 12 on Destination ImagiNation problem solving teams around the state.
WHAT: Great photo opps as student team members get hands-on training in creative problem solving techniques, improvisation, construction and teamwork.

WHEN: Saturday, January 6, 2012 from 10 AM – 1:30
WHY: DI features teams of up to 7 participants at the elementary, middle or secondary age levels. Adult Team Managers can facilitate the students but cannot help the team solve their Challenge. It’s the ultimate adult hands-off program! THIS is where team members get hands-on training in creative problem solving techniques, improvisation, construction and teamwork.

About Destination ImagiNation
Destination ImagiNation® is an extra-curricular program that teaches students the 5C’s of innovation. Participants build critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication skills and confidence.
Last year, over 1,500 students took part in NH-DI creative problem solving programs and were well represented at Destination ImagiNation Global Finals, where the top teams compete in creative problem solving. During the year, teams of up to seven students solve team-selected Team Challenges that incorporate national learning standards and core school subjects with a focus that is technical, scientific, fine arts, improvisational, structural or social-learning. Teams choose one of six Challenges that seem interesting to the team. They also learn and practice “think on their feet” skills for the Instant Challenge portion of the competition.
Teams are still forming in New Hampshire and in over 30 countries that participate in the program.
